Shazdeh "Shaz" Hussain is the Creative Executive at CatchLight. She assists with independent and studio development, working with partners such as DreamWorks and Universal on core IP development, as well as independent producers like Julia Glausi (Beck + Woods). She has sourced material that then reached the annual "The Black List" – the best scripts yet to be produced in Hollywood – multiple years running, breaking the top 10 with WEST COAST LIVING in 2025. Previously, Shazdeh worked on the independent team at Verve Talent & Literary Agency, where she coordinated financing and sales for indie titles such as SACRAMENTO starring Michael Cera, Kristen Stewart, and Maya Erskine, as well as KNOX GOES AWAY, directed by and starring Michael Keaton. Before her career in the entertainment industry, Shazdeh worked in tech in program management at Zignal Labs, Palo Alto Networks, and Tesla. She is a proud graduate of UC Berkeley.
