FOUNDER

Marcei A. Brown, a founding Partner of CatchLight Studios, has produced or managed over 16 films since transitioning from Assistant Directing.

Her most recent projects include SONGBIRD, where she served as a producer on the first movie shot in Los Angeles during the Covid-19 lockdown, the upcoming UMMA for Sony Pictures and Sam Raimi, BLACKkKLANSMAN and the Academy Award winning film, GET OUT. 

She previously worked around the country as a Unit Production Manger on major studio movies, including EVAN ALMIGHTY, WANDERLUST, IDENTITY THIEF and THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT. She has also worked as an Assistant Director with directors such as Jay Roach, Tom Shadyac, and David Wain.  Marcei began her movie career as a Production Assistant after earning a degree in film from Loyola Marymount University. The camaraderie of the movie-making experience sparked her interest in being a filmmaker. She enjoys making the Director’s vision come to life on the screen.
