NOTICE: The CatchLight Fund is currently NOT accepting any submissions.

The CatchLight Fund is an affiliate of CatchLight Films. CatchLight Films is comprised of filmmakers that are inspired by such films as Chasing Amy, Strictly Ballroom, The Red Violin, and The Princess Bride. We appreciate and support films of all genres, with the exception of films containing gratuitous sex and violence. The CatchLight Fund will accordingly seek projects of a similar nature.

The CatchLight Fund invests in eligible films through all unfinished stages of post-production: editing, music scoring or clearance, post-supervision, deliverables, negative cut, lab fees, etc.

When CatchLight invests in a film it will partner with the filmmaker to develop a marketing strategy with the intention of securing a viable source of distribution. This could include covering festival fees and expenses, press kits, test screenings, etc.

To be considered eligible for the CatchLight Fund a film must be finished with principal photography with none of the current investment received through bank loans. The film should meet at least some of the following qualifications:

• A Production Budget Under 5 million dollars

• High Production Quality

• Innovative Story, Characters, and Visual Style

• Inspirational and Thought-provoking Content

• Well Crafted Script and Dialogue

• Ability to present Legal Paperwork, especially in regards to Ownership of Rights and Clearances, upon request

• Ability to present Finanacials including a Current Budget, a Proposed Completion Budget, and Any Current Financial Issues/Investments, upon request

These are the basic guidelines by which the CatchLight Fund will be evaluating potential projects. However, we acknowledge that there exist exceptions to every rule and that a project may be evaluated by other standards. It is important in these circumstances that the filmmaker communicate such unique standards to the manager of the CatchLight Fund.

A small percentage of the CatchLight Fund is to be used for "last money in development". This type of investment is intended to offer support to filmmakers in the early stages of a project, before pre-production. In this scenario funds would be provided to facilitate a final script re-write, casting calls, table reads, etc. Such an investment is not intended for the purposes of Principal Photography. Rather it is for filmmaker(s) that have created momentum for a project, but need immediate cash flow to polish a script and/or carry a project into pre-production.

The CatchLight Fund will not accept any unsolicited material. If you have a project that you are interested in submitting, please proceed as follows: FAX or E-mail a synopsis of your project of no more than one page in length, accompanied by Bios of the principles, and a proposed completion budget.

Please do NOT solicit individuals at CatchLight Films regarding the CatchLight Fund unless previous contact with that person has already been established. Only properly submitted projects will be considered.
